Innovation
Today's travellers are making different demands on tour operators
compared with the days when China first opened her doors. People
want to see the 'real China' and second time visitor wants to
explore new regions in new ways. We are monitoring this trend
and place a lot of emphasis not only on the development of new
products but also on new ways to organize our nationwide operations
network. When it comes to China Travel we are proud to be the
first travel service to:
- Guarantee to answer enquiries within 24 hours.
- Use Western Consultants to help coordinate local operations.
- Run a detailed research programme to monitor exactly what
the market is looking for
- Have independent divisions for different products: 'Classic
China', 'West China', 'Off The Beaten Track', 'Adventure',
and 'Special Products'.
- Run an ongoing quality control programme through client
questionnaires.
- Pioneer nationwide incentive schemes for our guides
- Provide a cost efficient pricing system that enables you
to pay for what you get.
Of course what we enjoy most is introducing
different destinations. Apart from designing entirely new routes,
we also look for different places to visit within the framework
of an existing itinerary. So on our 'Classic' programmes we will
perhaps visit the Great Wall at Mutianyu rather than Badaling.
This recently restored section of China's greatest monument affords
superb views of the surrounding countryside and is unspoilt by
the crowds of tourists and souvenir vendors found at the Badaling
site. While on our 'Off the Beaten Track' circuits Golden Bridge
continues to be the first to introduce Westerners to hidden corners
throughout China.
Most important of all we understand that innovation
is not a one off affair, but an ongoing process of product evolution.
This is why we are constantly researching new routes and developing
new services to compliment them in a bid to find alternative ways
to experience the great diversity of cultures and geography that
makes China such a fascinating country to visit.
Group
Strength
With a network of nationwide offices we have the resources to
ensure that your trip runs as planned. We're big enough to handle
any and every group - whether it be a team of touring bicycles
in the Tian Shan, or a wedding party on the Great Wall. And yet
we're no white elephant, bogged down by poor communications and
red tape. When it comes to ticketing, reservations, and permits,
our efficient system of 'Networking' provides a highly flexible
mechanism by which we can work quickly to meet your needs and
your expectations, at a price that you are willing to pay.
A
Team of Specialists
China Travel is a very complex and elaborate subject. The sheer
size of the country, together with its massive population and
long history means that no single person can ever really claim
to be a total 'expert'. Nevertheless, as a Travel Service which
makes all manner of land arrangements in China, we have a tremendous
responsibility to know our product in great detail. For this reason
we have assembled a team of specialists, both Chinese and Westerners,
each of whom has a thorough knowledge of a particular region,
and who by working closely together collectively embody the skills
and learning of an expert. So no matter whether you need to know
which is the best restaurant for a birthday party in Shanghai,
or on what day will the Hulanbeir Mongols hold their horse races
next year, you can be sure that we have someone to answer your
question.
Guiding
- The Key to Success
Once the group has arrived in China, the success of the tour rests
very largely in the hands of the guide. For this reason we maintain
a very strict control over all aspects of guiding, particularly
in remote regions where special skills are required. Each guide
tends to specialise in a particular area so we are able to pick
and choose the most appropriate person to accompany your groups.
All our guides are filed on computer so we know exactly who can
do what. We are the only travel service that can inform you who
your local guide will be before departure.
We encourage our guides to try to think like
foreigners - to empathise with, and respond to the travellers
needs. Our aim is to give everyone within the group the chance
to reach out and discover for themselves the incredible richness
of China. In this respect, all of our guides are trained to work
closely with your tour leader so that the whole tour runs smoothly
and your customers can do what they have paid to do - enjoy themselves!
Planning
We are well aware that efficiency saves everyone a lot of time
and money, not to mention peace of mind. For this reason planning
is something that we take very seriously. The first stage is to
listen, both within and without. The unique structure of our network
allows us to respond quickly to new developments from within China
and to pass these benefits on to you. In the same way, we remain
always alert to the changing needs of our clients; listening to
your comments and then finding ways to realise your goals.
Like anywhere in the world, inclement weather or plain bad luck
can occasionally force us to alter the itinerary at the last moment.
For this reason we devise a contingency plan for every circuit
so that in the unlikely event of unavoidable changes our guides
will have all been briefed on alternative routes and arrangements.
It is at rare moments like this that the full advantages of working
with an efficient network can be appreciated.
Through careful planning our aim is to give good service to
the passengers. So whether passengers are cruising down the Yangtse
River, birdwatching in Fujian, or hiking through deep snow in
Tibet, you can rest assured that we are out there getting the
job done.
